Installed red LED bulbs at Rush Creek Growers in Spring Valley, Wis. to help extend day length and supplement low winter light levels on root cuttings in their greenhouse. The LEDGrowLights™ bulbs allowed Rush Creek Growers to install a lighting system without the expense of purchasing HID fixtures and also eliminated the high operating costs of HID fixtures. The installation consisted of 44 ten-watt red bulbs suspended four feet over a six by sixty-six foot bench. The LED bulbs are spaced three feet apart in two rows and the bulbs are strung together on 14-gauge UV resistant cable (14-2 w/ground). After the rooting season Rush Creek Growers intends to use the space to light native grasses and forbs to ready them for sale.
